The Break Up

I was surprised to find I liked this movie. I didn't think it was terribly hilarious, but that it had some funny parts.

I found it encouraging knowing Vince Vaugn co-wrote it the movie, and yet still the movie didn't paint the male character in the best light. Not that Jennifer Aniston's character was that much better. Maybe its because I've known a few 'Garys', and have been a 'Brooke' on occasion that I found the characters believable...frustrating much of the time, but still real.

Though the idea that communication is necessary to maintain a long, healthy, loving relationship could be considered trite, that doesn't make it less true, and as a reminder it's kind of nice. That's what I liked about this movie...
