Summer Comes...

"But how do you know, Momma?" asked the young dryad. "Why, a little bird told me, child," answered her mother with a smile.

Did this one for Sue's Summer Solstice contest over at DA. Been working on the dryads for a while now, but finally decided to give up on working on them seperately and just rendered it all together. Two hours for the render, and another two to render just the shadows. Wasn't too happy with how I had to do it, but until I get more power, I do what I gotta do lol.

Overall this piece is complicated and beautiful, Eve-e. One thing that throws it off for me is the positioning of the eyes. She's suppose to be looking at the bird, correct? It doesn't look like she's focusing at anything.

Great depth perception. I love the butterful that's upclose, it really lends to the realism of view. Great job on her crown too! =)

Well, you can blame poser for that then, cuz I used the point at feature and pointed both eyes at the bird. I thought after that I should have lowered her chin a bit, but after 4 hours of rendertime already, no thanks. Ah well, I wanna play with them some more again after my "vacation" this week, but not til after the desks are together! *stomps foot*
