Yahoo Messenger 8 Beta
Don't upgrade. - Yet, anyway.
The current beta is a memory hog - using over 70 megs of memory from the time you start it up - and if you load more of their "offered plugins" it gets even bigger.
The ads they display seem to be flash-based and cause the main contact list
to flicker and be really, really slow. No, you can't turn them off. (I don't know why they even put the ads in the contact list... I don't look at it long enough during the day to see them change, so what's the point?)
The idea of adding plugins is nice, but they - especially the iTunes one - are slow as molasses.
So like I said... don't upgrade right now, maybe until they finalize it.

Trillian is too buggy, I'll stick with GAIM.

I don't get bugs with trill, but I can't use it at work unless I got the laptop =(

Anyone else start using gmail one? It's simplistic but not bad.

Trillian (for me) freaks out with more than one active Yahoo account.

at home I use MSN messenger and at work I use their web version. www.webmessenger.msn.com It crashes on you sometimes (ie when it loses connection to their server you get a page not found) and I can't send files and such but since we can't install anything on our PCs at work, it's the only option. Not too bad either.

A friend uses meebo.com, because you can access msn, yahoo, and aim, like trillian, all online.
