"Great Caesar's Ghost" is a common expletive used by Perry White ;)
To expound upon my lack of articulation earlier...
The effects were nothing short of amazing.
The music gave me goosebumps.
The story was decent Supes fare, and the twists at the end were... twisty ;)
* The 'Superman being Super' sequences were superb. All the classic Superman stuff you'd expect is there, carried out in dazzling, awe-inspiring, heroic style. In fact, it's a visually stunning movie in general.
* The Lois flight scene that's part of the classic formula was perfect to the note, figuratively and literally. Perfect. It could not have been better.
* Marlon Brando's material was handled very well.
* Luthor is decent, though I'd put him next to Gene Hackman, but both of them a step below the kid from Smallville..

It was a Superman movie. It was visually awesome, and I liked Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth, but the story was...okay. Then too, Superman never was my favorite comic book hero.

Anyone else notice that Lois' boyfriend/father of her kid whatever (haven't seen it yet) is the same guy who plays Cyclops - caught in a love triangle...who also plays the fiance in The Notebook - caught in a love triangle and LOST.

yeah Scott gets Jean... they went with a very f-ed up version for X-3, not at all accurate unless you're going by their "what if?" alternaverse series Marvel does.

We just watched the movie last night. The spoilers didn't do it justice. It wasn't half bad. I really enjoyed the special effects, like how he'd break the sound barrier and you could see him doing it. That whole airplane part in the beginning was outstanding and holy COW he is HOT!
