First techy kind of question

I bought Batlab's Schoolgirl Pack for Aiko, now when I go to unzip the file I downloaded with WINZIP, where should I instruct it to extract the files to? The text file from Batlabs says:

Installation:

Run your Zip-program and extract the Runtime folder into your Poser folders.
All files will be placed in the folders.

When I run WINZIP I don't have a "runtime folder" though. Just all the files that would be in the folder. How do I make them go to the right places?

I took a screenshot of the folders to better explain what happens:

http://www.clickon-art.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=32&g2_serialNumber=1

Now obviously I am a tool because I have been able to add in all the other stuff (I think) but I can't get the Schoolgirl stuff to show up anywhere in DAZ. Please correct my erring ways!

I have Poser folders too, should I tell it to go there?

The thing I don't get is that it doesn't have a "runtime" folder when I open the archive. Just the files that would be in a runtime folder.

Yep, I'm a tool. I figured it out. Had to add a couple folders to the preference list. I can get my content now.

What a clusterfuck! And not your stuff just what he's done with that file. Usually you have a Runtime folder within the zip with everything in its place, specially when you've bought it from someone. The best I can do is direct you to the thread in our library here that tells you what files are what and where they go. I would also suggest maybe dropping Bat an email over on Rosity and explain to him that you're a newb (work it to your advantage while ya can), and ask if he could please place the files in the proper folders for you. Everything I've ever gotten from him has been done like that I think. As for using the Runtime vs Content folder for Daz: Unless it is something specifically created for Daz|Studio, use the Poser Runtime folders. And start now trying to keep things organized and you'll be much happier in the long run ;)

well if you were a poser user, you'd just extract to your poser folder.

if you look to the right of your main window it says "runtime\libraries\character\bat_rmp" under 'path'.

that means when you extract it, it will create each of those folders if they do not already exist. (if you have 'use folder names' checked )

03:00 PM » ShatteredLinks: okay on Tam's post, you say look to the right of her main window but I don't see anything that shows a folder structure at all
03:01 PM » chick coder: you dont see that huge column of text that says 'runtime...\bat_rmp' on like 20 rows ?
03:04 PM » ShatteredLinks: uh no, I just see all the files from being unzipped
03:04 PM » chick coder: look on the left side of her pic
03:04 PM » chick coder: she has the main winzip window
03:04 PM » chick coder: with ALL the filenames
03:04 PM » chick coder: in a list
03:04 PM » chick coder: to the right of the filenames
03:04 PM » ShatteredLinks: yeah
03:04 PM » chick coder: is the PATH
03:04 PM » chick coder: that they get extracted to

Nebbermind, Vex pointed out what I didn't notice so yeah, all you'd have to do is unzip that to your Runtime folder within Daz and it would put everything where it belongs. I still suggest organizing stuffs after that tho before you get too far along ;)

Thanks Vex and Eve. The weird thing was that when I was unzipping to Daz it wasn't (as far as I could see) showing up in my DAZ content. The folders were there but nothing seemed to be in them, such as the obj. files.

Then I realised I was a tool and didn't have the right stuff set up in the preferences. Sometimes, ok lots of times I R DUM. All seems to be working now. I am pretty sure I saw a recent post at SMMO (think it was Aalyve) about how to organise folders etc so I will check that out too.

Pipp did a how to I think. I know I posted an animated pic of my set up let me find that and post it for ya here too. *pokes around website*

There ya go. It's just a general idea of how you can set things up within the library folder of your runtime.
