Which sucks cause Joss Whedon is writing it (creator of Buffy, Angel, Firefly/Serenity)

I just hope they cast a relatively well known actor. I hate movies that have newbies. That's why I'm hesistant to see Superman - although the actor was in a Christina Aguilara video. Whee.

Why?

The original Superman The Movie featured a newbie... Same with the original Wonder Woman...

Because i'm a movie snob. I like my movies to have seasoned actors if they're going to be playing characters that are bigger than them. =(

I thought Brandon Routh was fine as superman, and a little spooky that he sounded so much like CR.
I'm not sure Charisma Carpenter as Wonder Woman would fly though. I think I'd rather have an unknown.

Meh, I honestly don't think that this will do very well. People, for the most part, want men superheroes. Hell, even WW comic sales don't stack up well against non-iconic comics.

For a comic movie to really succeed you need to have one that is familiar to the general populace, a good story (or at least one you know people will watch).

Charisma Carpenter and Sara Michele suppossedly were jockying for the role upon announcement. Heh I saw Charisma in some low budget sci fi channel stuff and she is cursed to be Cordi forever. I hope she doesnt wind up with the part. Hot Girl who cant act.

*neither* Charisma or Sara Michelle Gellar should get this part! It needs to go to a bombshell who's super tall (and SMG is NEITHER!) and who actually looks like an Amazon. I can't think of anyone who fits the bill so an unknown would probably be the best way to go. Oh and she MUST have seriously LARGE BOOBS!!!! Use well known actors for the more support roles like Steve and maybe a cameo as her Mom or one of the Gods/Goddesses. (I think Linda Carter should get a small cameo as well)

This is an important comic and as the only real female superhero who has had their own title for such a period of time it NEEDS to be done well. This could be so amazing if done right... Just have to forget some of the siller crap like her "invisible" plane and focus on her Amazonian roots and the reason she goes out to help the world of Man.

Well after the reviews that I heard of Superman Returns, I hold nothing but the lowest of expectations for this. I fully expect that they will use the powerset of the 70's TV Wonderwoman, rather than the current incarnation known for the past 20 some odd years.

No invisible plane, slighly less powerful/invulnerable than Superman, can fly, has used the lasso as an offensive weapon, has no qualms about killings when given no alternative.

Thus far while not faithful to X-Men history I think that the X-Men movies come the closest to capturing their essence.

Kinda Like Starsky and Hutch ??
