You know you're getting old when they remake beloved films from your early childhood, well that treatment is set to happen to one of mine. According to Reuters who reports Raven Symone is attached to star in the Walt Disney Pictures remake of '80s cult favorite "Adventures in Babysitting".
The original "Babysitting", also known as "A Night on the Town" in foreign territories, followed a high school senior (Elisabeth Shue) who gets stuck baby-sitting a bunch of kids. The dull night is interrupted when she gets a call for help from a friend (Penelope Ann Miller) stuck downtown, leading her and the kids into a night of misadventures. The original movie marked the directorial debut of Chris Columbus ("Mrs. Doubtfire", "Harry Potter 1 & 2").
Lynda Obst, who produced the 1987 original with Debra Hill, is on board to produce the remake. David Stem and David Weiss wrote the script for the new "Babysitting." No director has been named yet. Symone's deal includes a guaranteed pay or play on one movie, with an option for a second, though it's unsure if this film will qualify as part of it.

Ok that is just wrong. Raven Symone, while a decent actress and an ok singer, has no business being in this cult classic. It's sad that they've run out of good new scripts that they have to go back and ruin old ones.

a-yup, one of the kids had a Thor fascination and they run into a guy who reminds the kid of him.. big muscled and blonde..
remaking this is indeed wrong. While it's not high on the all time faves list it was a fave of mine as a kid. This sucks.

I know why I don't like her.
She will always be that little girl on The Cosby Show that was Denise's step-daughter. She has far removed herself from that role, certianly, but I don't think I can think of her as anything but that pig-tailed kiddo with the smart mouth.
Edit: That and she did a re-make of a Stevie Wonder song and butchered it. No one is allowed to butcher Stevie Wonder and still expect to be liked.

so now its gonna be about a black family then? Is this why they are remaking it. I think that movie is titled "Are we there yet" and has ice cube in it

We see previews for this type of movies - the 8-12 age group and Mike will lean over and say, 'Grats, you're taking her to this one' - to which I will reply, 'Screw that.'
