I'm sorry but the lighting on your velvet is coming from the wrong direction. You should completely rerender that.
Wait, you didn't ask for c/c, did you? Well you should fix that. Seriously...pfft.

This is one of my characters I played (and prolly will play again soon) on City of Heros. Iggy and Prog have a contest going that ends today, and I only found out about it a couple days ago. Excuse any minor screw ups as I was running short on time so prolly did a few boo boos I'm sure. These are actually her street clothes. I've got two more costumes I need to do, but I think I'll wait til I go log back in and see what kinda costume changes they've implemented since I've been gone ;)

i agree with Roz.. I kept looking at it and thinking something was off, and then once i read that I realized that was it. It's great and I like it but yeah, the lighting seems backwards

*crosses eyes* Roz is being a wench and mimicing someone that pissed me off. I don't know why those velvet shaders light the way they do, but that's with the light coming at her from straight ahead and that's it. The inner thighs and her vest are both using the same red velvet mat, and you see how they are opposite *shrug* Don't know what to tell ya bout them :(

I was just joking, Temp. I've messed with those velvet shaders before and they do have a mind of their own lol.

well... kidding or not.. it still seems wonky. I've never tried to mimic velvet, maybe it's because velvet has weird reflective properties IRL? But I noticed it on this one and on the HIE necro one, the lighting seems reversed. may be nothing to be done about it *shrug*

well if you want to be technical, its poser's incapability to mimic velvet properly, instead, it gives an "inner color" and "outer color" the material zone. Since velvet tends to reflect light at its edges, it appears that the inner area of a velvet piece of clothing is darker than its outer edges.
unfortunately, poser fakes the light and forces the outer edges to be lighter than the center regardless of lighting conditions.
so there you have it. its poser's fault.

Shup wench, she just takes the whole fire crotch thing to the extreme, what can I say :p Besides, it's only a brighter red than how her pants are in game, but it's red there too so neener!
