The Descent
Wow, this is the first movie in ages that actually scared me, and to the point when for a few seconds I really thought I was going to need to leave the theater. The really crazy thing is, the part that scared isn't what I would have imagined to be intentionally scary.
Without giving anything away, the movie is about a group of women who go caving in North Carolina. They're mostly British women, who apparently are thrill seekers and go to different places in the world doing this. Now going down into a deep cave, in itself, is kind of creepy to me, though I have gone into caverns and such without incident. What really scared me to the point of really uncomfortable anxiety was one scene when the last woman in the group is crawling through this tight passage way and gets stuck.
OMG! I became terrified at the thought that she wouldn't make it through, seriously! It seems crazy to me, because things really don't usually scare me, but JEEZ this did.
Anyway, the rest of the movie was better than I expected, and I did enjoy it, but still can't get over my reaction to that scene. Throw me out of a plane anyday, but don't ever ask me to go caving!
Also, from what I understand there were two endings filmed for this movie...one shown in England when it first opened, and then the one they're showing here. I heard what the English version was, and must say I'm glad they changed it for the US lol
it really makes you feel claustrophobic. There was one part where you could hear the whole theater gasp in horror lol.

WTF was up with the birthday cake?
Anyway, good movie =)
