Churchly Migraine - a poem

I stayed home from church today
because my brain hurt me in a real bad way
I stayed up late last night you see
because my stomach got the better of me

I don't know what I ate to cause
to give my stomach pain and pause
but after my sleep my head did pound
Like tons of rocks avalanching to the ground

My stomach still hurts oh yes, you know
But the crunch in my head does over shadow
I took my pills; Excedrin migraine double
but still my stomach continues to bubble

I'm not hungry; thought of food my stomach turns
But for a little brain softness my consciousness yearns
I'd take a nap but laying there's so much pain
I hope it goes away soon again.

I didn't go to church because the music's so loud
It hits me like lightning flashes from ground to cloud
Crackaboom! the pain from the crescendoes flare
That's why I didn't go to church today there.
