License Plates

So we have an '06 Ram 1500 http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b315/crikett/Family/Truck/Truck1.jpg .
Last night some dumb ass took our license plate and left on our truck one from a stolen Ram 1500 out of a city near us. We call the non emergency number to the local police and get an officer out here. He takes the report takes the stolen plate we were left. The dispatch calls back to ask a few more questions, we wrap it up, call waiting beeps its the officer that came out. he asks how much we owe... nothing it was a lease paid in full. He asks if I am positive that I am not in rears with the finance company (obviously he did not understand what I just said). After all is said and done I have a new plate and am driving legally again, but my question is why did they feel the need to take my pretty license plate holder too? :rant

Get security screws. Pepboys/Autozone/Advanced all sell them. Cost you $5-7.

Problem solved.

However in beautiful SE DC you have to laminate your registration sticker on, cuz those assholes will take just that.

yeah just as bed here in honolulu. took my lexus to the mall came back and my safety check sticker (like emissions) and registration stickers were stolen. fucking assholes. My saftey gets stolen once a month cuz i refuse to put a sticker on my bumper so i made a plate that bolts under the license plate but they always steal it. haha, fisrt time reg sticker was stolen

i had to take a box cutter and slice up my reg sticker. that way theyd have to peel off every last little piece and rebuild it. Not worth their time. Stupid detroit

they finally got around that problem in TX by having stickers that go in the front window (inside the car) - and they shred when you take them off. course, when you go out of state, you stand a 50-50 chance of getting pulled over for having plates with no tags... which is so much fun to explain to the nice officer who just stares at you dumbly. you can even point at them and they're like "yeah right. get tags on your plates."
