A couple wips...

So I've been on kind of a black and white 'noir' style for the past week or so :D. Got a book from the library and have been going to town. It's a neat book as far as showing the style but not really meant to teach more basic stuff, which I'm still totally working on.

Soo....cc would be good. It's been kind of funny watching these guys progress - sort of like one of those evolution diagrams, I don't know why but my faces tend toward the simian :\. Makes sense in a way but I'm not making a bunch of cromagnum men here! Please feel free to be nitpicky and tell me if things aren't correct.

I like your progress with this over on SMMO. With the recent c/c you got, I don't agree with - I think the highlighting looks good and isn't too thick. Aren't bulky lines the point of vectoring anyway? The shape of the ear looks good as well, but the original ear does seem to look more natural.

Your vectors squee me, Billie. I can't even begin to figure out how you do them lol.

I think I screwed up by mentioning the style I was going for over there....really the CC I need is universal, basic stuff :\.

His ear is gun do me in! lol! Anyway, I'll post the latest here so there doesn't have to be board hopping, I just didn't want to spam my own thread :X

there's still something a tad off on the shading, but i can't put my finger on it.... going back and forth between this and the last one, it looks like you've "moved" the light to be more or less frontal, right? so i think what looks a little odd (to me at least) is that there's no corresponding "light" on his clothes. or at least no change between the two versions that would follow the light shift...

otherwise, i have to say that I am incredibly jealous! in this area, I'd have to share BR's crayons - I just cannot draw this good of a likeness! great work!

I like the thinner chin and the lines on the latest version. I believe that part of what would help with Fiona's problem and perhaps your problems with the ear is to shade the back of the ear to black. If the light is in the front then the back of the ear would fall into shadow. As you have it, it appears that a light is in front of him and a spotlight is on his ear.

However, the ear shapes are awesome there. I hate covering up work that looks good in its own right but needs to be covered over somewhat.

Anyway, Thanos is the hawtness

Oh, on Loretta...cause I forgot to mention her. So sorry Etta :X

The fringe in the front could stand some tapering to soften the edge of it. Either make it smooth across like close together fringe or wispy and not so straight across. In my honest, not anywhere close to humble, opinion. Everything else on her looks good and she definitely has that glare down.

Here's the Etta sig, cc is still welcome :)
