The Plot: The Pentagon selects Army soldier and average American Joe Bowers (Wilson) as its guinea pig for a top-secret program. Zapped 1,000 years into the future, Bowers encounters a society in which he's easily the smartest person around.
THE BUZZ: Wait ... what? We didn't even read about Idiocracy's limited release on September 1st until that date had come and gone. Apparently, after sliding all over the calendar, Fox chose to unceremoniously dump the film into "select cities" without any promotion to back it up. Rumor has it "select corporations" aren't pleased with the way they are portrayed in the film, so did Fox bow to corporate pressure ... or is Idiocracy simply not all that? Guess what we think.
