CC needed OMFG (yes, I'm cutting it -really- fine)

So Mai told me about this contest on Tuesday...http://news.deviantart.com/article/22298/....and I'm -totally- into it but didn't have much in teh way of time to work with. Would really appreciate some smacking around on these two pieces, even to the point of just saying I should totally toss one is fine (though...I don't think I can start completely over so hopefully one or the other can be brought up to goodness).

The first uses the stills provided by the studio, the second is an original drawing inspired by the stills and stuff. These are not full size, still kinda rough but still ready for cc I think.

Wow I like them both a lot - I think the top one with the man is my fav. Hmm, c/c...

Do you have to use that font? If not, maybe something with a little bit more umph - pompeii capitals or chocolate box would be kinda cool. Sharper edges would really lend to the feel of the whole theme, to me at least.

The female, I wish I could see more of her face to accent the beauty part. Also bring in the edges a bit more, cut off what goes beyond the borderline.

:thumbsup GOOD LUCK!

I told you my comments earlier and I couldn't post because the connection over here is bouncing but coolness!

The bottom edge on both is for the movie credits and info that she hasn't pasted in yet if that helps explain why its there.

hm i like em bothbut i like the second one best. The man is scarey mean looking!

the second one the big words - youth , beauty- maybe a more sexy font? Or dirty/grimey? like something that looks like, god i cant think of an example. like it was written in lipstick. But even with the current font it still gives it a new york magaizne feel ^_^ if that makes sense.

k went and read the contest and stuff, i think the second one would be a great movie poster. Sometimes less is more. It more simple than the first imo. it would look good on the wall with the words *Now Playing* underneath it =D

I just saw the contest winners - artofkerem won and 2nd and third were really very cool. Still, I think your posters were amazing, Billie. I think your vector art is thrilling and innovative, really looking forward to seeing more of it!!!

It's funny, I liked the third one best of the top three. I guess my taste doesn't jive *grins* but the comments on the winner were enlightening, maybe will have a better handle on what folks are looking for next time :).
