Studio 60
Caught the pilot episode last night. Starring Matthew Perry and the guy from West Wing =x I should probably look it up.
Bascially Studio 60 is Saturday Night Live, a once glorious skit comedy show in its declining years. Forsaken quality for PC jokes, the long standing Show Director, Wes (for the life of me I can't think of his name) gets that final straw and much like the speech in Network (1987 movie they refer to in the show as well), Wes stands up and gives a scathing speech about how television has changed and the edgy writing that made shows like Studio 60 great, that 'fuck you' no PC hilarious writing that is both offensive but insightful is long gone.
Basically he gets his ass fired.
In comes Amanda Peet, the new President of the corporation. New, charming and hella smart, rehires Matt and Danny. Both were fired 4 years previous but now that the NBC like power channel is in trouble, the new President suggests they come back to breath new life and to acknowledge Wes' tirade.
Pretty funny, it's like West Wing only with social politics. I have it set to record on my DVR =D
Wes guy = Judd Hirsch from Taxi'
I enjoyed it completely, and am glad to finally have something interesting to watch on Monday nights again.

Uh, Monday Night Football?
Too inconsistent - and besides that, it's normally over by 10pm as well.
I'm a night owl...I rarely go to bed before 1AM.
