Basically free Police Academy or Pay for a Bach?

Here's my delema.

I'm currently apply for a crimal justice degree at ITT Tech. Its a complete online program which is good, means more time with the kiddo. 4 year commitment and 80 grand by the time im done. Grants & Loans will have to taken out like crazy and Sallie Mae has allready denyed me so id have to get a high interest rate loans.

or

i can apply to the police academy at the community college and practically have it all payed for with grants but it's from 7am-3pm mon - fri, jan-may. Plus on mon/wed/fri i'd be working in the evening. This would be major time loss with the kiddo.

One is obviously cheaper. I dont really want to be a cop that pulls people over to give tickets. I'd much rather be interested in desk work/drug dog ect. But i could manage the ticket giving if it was a stepping stone. If i go with the ITT Tech i'd look into border patrol or working for the DNR.

btw, im horrible with commitment. i already have half a degree in advertising art, certifed nurse assistant, and was a realtor. >_< i'll find my rift one day!

what seems like a better, smarter approach?

I would honestly take the quicker option, ESPECIALLY if you aren't sure you're going to stick to it. There aren't alot of things more horrible than realizing you aren't into something and still being 80k in the hole. Put the money you would save into a college fund for you're child and you'll be able to spend more time in the long run.
