there's like 88 servers, half those are PVP..
PVP is fun but still unbalanced.. game is new, nerfs have yet to be made. play a shaman if you want PVP godstatus ;)
we dont have exact numbers anymore, but easily 1-2k+ playing at any given time on both sides.
WoW question
What is the general population of the servers..hundreds, thousands?. There are a shitload of servers to choose from. I might do a PVP server, would add a little extra to the game I think..
Thoughts, comments?

I'm a PvP fan, however I will be mainly playing on a "Normal" server. PvP is still a bit part of it, but it's essentially voluntary on the Normal servers (I say 'essentially' cause you will eventually be forced to risk PvP in some situations even on a Normal server if you want to do certain things). I've never been a big fan of raiding low level areas to kill foes... which, imo, is the only benefit of the all out PvP servers.
I don't know what the populations are, but they have a cap, cause when it's at it you get put on a queue to get into the server you want.

There's usually about 800 horde, 1200 alliance on azgalor during prime time.
As to whether or not you want to go to a PvP server, that really depends on you. You need to be prepared for the fact that there will be nights where you just can't get anything done because there will be groups of enemies at all the quest locations and they aren't going to share. There are also people who get off on hanging out in lower level areas and killing people 10 or more levels lower than them. You will also be attacked at the worst possible times. Fighting a mob plus two adds and just finally killed them with only 20% health and no mana left? The other side isn't going to wait for you to heal up, they're going to hit you then and there. On the bright side, you can do all of these things to other people, which is fun.
So basically, pvp can be frustrating at times but it is usually a lot of fun. If you don't think you're going to be able to deal with the frustration, then stay on a pve server where you only have to fight if you want to.

Well to be honest Jin, It was your story about the PVP on one of the SRR boards that really got me thinking about playing WoW, and although it can be frustrating, it could be a shitload of fun. I wanna be the asshole sometimes too. heh. Now when you die due to PVP, do you have to go hunt your body down? Do they corpse camp you? I'm going to try to read up as much as possible at work. I'm going to cancel my EQ2 acct and move to WoW. I think I'll make a couple chars. One PVE and one PVP.
Also, is there any REAL advantages to doing tradeskills?

What server are you playing on Jin? And are you playing a shaman?
