Web hosts?

OK since SMMO is down I can't check there, and I wasn't sure where to put this here.. I have had a dial up account for eons that gave me 300mb of webspace and pretty much unlimited bandwidth (Once, I let quite a few people download "the call" with no problem so it was pretty darn high if there was a limit) Welp, they have sold all their accounts to PeoplePC and it was effective 12-4. Since I almost never go to the site or use the dial up I was kind clueless about it *sigh* And PeoplePC only offers 10mb for the same price. Screw that! So... I need advice on a good place for webspace. I don't wanna spend more than the $11 a month I was, and I want at least 300mb of space. Is this even gonna be possible? Oh and I have no idea if I'll need it before Saturday's SMMO exchange turn in *bigsigh*

my acct is with TripleMoonHosting.org I think I spend $50 a year, but can't remember what I get for that...:P The owner is a friend lol.

Vex, I think eve and I use deezsites from Las on smmo. I like it, its pretty handy and he fixes stuff pretty quick. Cheap too, something like 80 a year or something like that. And you could just use photobucket to host your stuff for the exchange.

One of my sites uses deezsites.

I also have a site with www.1and1.com and I pay... ~4 bucks a month? for 100GB space and 1000GB transfer.

I've used deezsites as well. Good guy.

I've also used http://www.startlogic.com/products_prologic.html. 50gb of space 750gb of xfer. Their service is a bit lacking though. but prepaid it's i think 6 bucks a month.

I really like Deezsites but I can't afford prepaid (christmas and all) and the set up for a montly just makes it expensive. I think I'm going to just upgrade my godaddy account I have that's been hosting crymsyn.com for me. I kinda forgot I had hosting with that *blush* Here's what it is :

Dreamhost is suppose to be really good as well. I use godaddy for my domain but that's it. I don't know the diff between the who thingies though. Try their support, they're really good about responding fast.

You know what's funny though, I got a RASH of shit from "a friend" who didn't understand why I wanted the convenience of having support from a webhost. I was with doteasy, and don't get me wrong - they are helpful, but ultimately I went with Deez and the installatron just about does what I need. Granted I pay Vex to do this, that and the other, to maintain all my sites, but deez does make it easier.

So whatever you choose, just make sure they have decent support because that'll break ya.

I use bluehost.com, they have great customer support, are cheap and you can host up to I think 6 domains on a single account. They also have a crapload of things you can install with the click of a button (stuff like phpbb and coppermine) The only downfall is it's a prepay site, but I think you can go as low as 3 months or so at a time.
