That's ridiculous. That doesn't even sound right.

You have *got* to be kidding me. There are tons of jurisdiction issues with this along with the fact that most of these MMORPG games do not officially support transferring accounts between people so that you couldn't "inherit" someone's account anyway. And since putting a RL value or performing a transaction with in game property is usually against the company policy (WoW expressly claims ownership of *ALL* in game property) then technically I don't own anything and I can't be taxed on it.
