Annual New Years Resolutions or Promises that will soon be broken - Thread

We have them every year and with the pending new year hovering over our heads, it's time for us to lie about what we'll change about ourselves next year =D

I actually improved upon some of my resolutions last year...

I cut out almost all soda - I drink less than four cups/cans a month now - and almost all junk food - I had a handful of cookies sent me for Christmas and shared the remainder with my family.

I also sent out my respective cards (holiday, birthday) earlier than usual, and also finished my holiday shopping early!

I hope to improve further upon these next year.

Nope - haven't made a resolution in the past...sheesh, 15 years at least.
I make personal vows to myself all year long, and for the most part...well, probably 80% of the time, I stick to them. But it's like dieting...why put it off till tomorrow, when you can start today?

Good luck to those of you who believe in them though! :D

I don't make New Year's Resolutions for one simple reason, I don't believe in setting myself up for failure. I make a finacial pledge to my church, and a time and talents pledge as well and those are the only promises I make to myself.

Good luck to those that make them!!!!!

Hmm...this is the year, that I actually try to lose a few pounds, get my new website(s) up and running, do more art, and buy myself a slightly pre-owned Vette. ;)

The standard - be a better mother and wife. Play with catherine more, watch tv shows I don't want to watch with Veb on the couch. Work out more, eat less junk food, cut back on coffee. Write more, art more, be better at both.

I think I did a little better in most of that - well not the working out part :teehee Life is very good right now, spending more time with the kiddo and husband would only make it better =)

  • Get in the best shape of my life.

This is not totally unrealistic. Before my winter break I spent 3 months in the gym at school. My upper body is stronger than ever before and I finally started running again, albeit only 15-20 miles a week. Now in my third week at home I've eaten crap holiday food, and run only a few times.

I'm going on a big vacation in July, so by then I want to run 30+ miles a week, swim regularly at the gym's pool, continue lifting, and eat a healthy diet that I cook. That last part will be the hardest.

  • Oh and I guess graduate without fucking up my GPA so i can still go to grad school would be nice.
