Carrara vs Poser.. help!

OK with the current Daz promo and discounts I can get standard Carrara, maybe even the Pro version.. it's close, for less than Poser7. I guess I really am not sure... does anyone know someone who uses Carrara for renders? I would get the transposer plug in so I could import scenes, and I really like Daz|Studio so I would probably still use it and just do the export as .obj to use my creations in C5. I know C5 is also a modeler and great for animation... both things that I don't do so not important to me. I am just looking for something that will give me better looking, more realistic renders than D|S. And is hopefully going to render faster than Bryce, which while I like the smooth integration with D|S it's renders that take multiple days not even at super fine settings that just don't work for me.

I want a software that's going to be easy to use, produce great looking results quickly and doesn't have a huge learning curve. And oh yeah my machine is not the greatest.. I have a 1.75 AMD with 2 gig RAM. (Silly husband won't learn how to make me a render farm *glower* ) So is there anything that will function well or is my best bet to stick with what I have and deal with it?

Personally I want Cinema4. The renders from that are outstanding but it's incredibly pricey. The learning curve is going to be a bitch, I think, with any 3d program out there. DS is easy but it has a p4 render engine without the plug ins that add up. Personally I'm pretty happy with P7, but I've never used Carrara. I think I've only seen one or two artists out there who do use it.

Cinema4 is what ummm.. Freddy3D? uses...? His stuff is jaw dropping. That's the type of look I'm wanting, too. *sigh* Pricey is bad though.

well, with the pwSurface Addon for DAZ the rendered pics also look pretty good... shame that i don't have the cash to buy it at the moment :P

Oh, I have PWsurface. It does help, a LOT. Not with just skin but everything.. I used it on some leather boots I couldn;t get to look the way I liked and it does help, a lot. And I never did understand shader nodes in Poser, but I like D|S's.

Shader nodes in Poser are a little bit of trial and error :P

For the Moment i have to stick to USMP, kind of a free alternative to pwSurface, that's what i used on my recent Rendering.

I found a demo of C5...just downloaded it to see if I like it or not since I am sorta thinking about getting the standard version before the sale is over at Daz
