DVD software?

can anyone recommend a decent DVD player? it must be free, and it must be legally free. otherwise ill just break down and buy the codec for windows media player and use that POS.

im currently using this open source thing called VideoLan VLC, which works okay for watching movies, but menu interaction REALLY sucks. this is bad news because 1.) a couple CDs i bought came with DVDs showing various stuff that id like to see BUT I CANT CAUSE MY DVD PROGRAM SUCKS and the menu is extremely buggy, and 2.) i like to watch the previews for movies

help a gnome out

I use VLC and InterVideo WinDVD.
WinDVD has the better sound (5.1 Surround).
