Fyre WIP

Okay, so I'm attempting to do a new sig for FyreGarnett - and decided to do something a bit different and have it be daylight over in the Commonlands (getting a bit burned out on forest scenes!!)

This is not the final Render, justa WIP, so CC is more than welcome - I'm just not happy with the lighting. I'm not concerned about the shadows on the ground for the moment (I'd like the get teh sig part done tonight and that won't show!)- though any suggestions there would be welcome, since I haven't done a full size piece of her in forever.

Crap, just noticed her feet are in the ground... well that gaurantees a re-render!!

Beautiful background, good pose - the only thing throwing me off is the lighting. It doesn't match the background. You're looking at a flat area with almost no shade but the lighting seems dull and grey. I'd brighten it a little.

I agree, the lighting makes her seem like she's not really there. It looks like you just have one light shining from the right? I'd add a second on the left so the left side of her face isn't shadowed. Maybe set one a sort of goldenrod color and the other to a pale blue, brighten it like Roz said and add a little color.

The braid and sword are cool. Might do something a little more interesting with her left arm, maybe her hand on a hip or... something, that's the only part of her pose that doesn't seem to add anything.

Looks like it will be a cool sig when you're done with it. :)

Yeah what they said ^^ Just brighten your lights up a bit and should work fine =)
Great pose and scene :)

cool! so i played with the lighting - here are the results...

on the left I added a bluish light and on the right is the blueish light with a yellowish light also (would never of thought of that one though the blue made a lot of sense!) both are fairly low, maybe 25% because i didn't want to overdo it. I like the overall results from each - both have definite bonuses... especially in the shadowing. I think the one with yellow may have turned the trick for this stage - she seems more "in" the image.

as for her other hand - in the sig, it won't matter so much. for the full size, i'm looking for some leaf brushes - she's a Fury, thus a healer and quite a few of her healing spells involve swirling leaves, so in the final result, that hand will have something happeneing (which is gonna require some more light tweaking! yikes!!). I might bring it up and out a bit, but I don't want it to be the focus of the image, ya know?

damn. just realized i STILL haven't fixed her feet!!!
