Strange School Surprise - a poem
(( written based upon a dream I had last night 5/31/07 ))
The first day of school carried a bit of a surprise
When I looked around I could not believe my eyes
Kids were swimming high through the air
From class to class, here and then over there
Special belts they had to give them some room
Flying through the air you could hear a zoom
Back and forth, up over around and down
I felt a bit jealous, stuck on the ground
Craning my neck, the class trying to teach
While students came and went through the door's breach
Tense in the muscles, stiff in the neck bent
In search of relief through massage I went
About my crick to the nurse I first spoke
She laughed and said "Surely, this is a joke!"
Alone I seem to be in my tense pain
But bending my neck so, there is no gain
Approached the board with hopes for a masseuse
But they replied "For that there is no use!"
They didn't see as they began to laugh
That I don't have the neck of a giraffe
Pinched and pokey, my neck is still so sore
As I teach the students way off the floor
Certain repairing plans I then must make
Or my neck, so tense, will surely soon break.
Now just go get one of those belts...?
