The Prestige (on DVD)

I'm on a rental spree (something about being single... have time to catch up!!!) and picked this one up for 2 reasons - Hugh Jackman and it was made by the same people who made Memento.

Overall, I enjoyed this, though it dragged a bit about 3/4 through it. Then it picked backed up again for the ending. I am, however, ashamed to admit that when I paused it to go think it through and see if I could figure out who did what to who and how, I overlooked the obvious. Probably because it was obvious!

Plot Synopsis: 2 friends become rival magician/illusionists after the death of Angier's (Jackman) wife during a performance. They each become obsessed with each each other's secrets and besting each other. But nothing is quite as it seems.

Not a bad couple of hours of movie, worth the cost of renting it. I'm also ashamed to admit that if I hadn't known David Bowie was in it, I never would have picked him out. Though it would have bugged the daylights out of me to figure out who the heck was playing Tesla! They jump around in time alot, which is where paying attention comes in, since as near as I can tell, they cover a good ten years worth of flashbacks.

Any one else see this?
