Adaptation...
I posted this as a WIP over at SMMO, but I wanted to post it here as well. I've got what I think is the final done now, but I'm still open to CC about what could be improved. Please know though, I'm a Photoshop noob, so if you have a suggestion for certain effects, please name them if you can, so I know what you're talking about. :question
The concept is based off of a CHOW from ConceptArt.org, about old NES characters having to adapt (or not) to the real world. I was originally going to go for something modern, but the fort stock stood out to me, and I decided to use that. I wanted to make Samus fit in with her background, but I also wanted to age her armor, so that it looks like it was made of more standard metal, because the concept is that to adapt in about the 18th century or so, Samus has sold the designs of her suit to an army who in return has made her... um. Some high army rank. Thing. Right.

This is for a class assignment, by the way. I decided to go a bit above and beyond the standard assignment which had us taking a car and placing it onto a new background using a layer mask. I ran this by my instructor, and she approved it, so here's hoping it will do alright.
:thumbsup
Thank you very much! I updated it a bit, a small fix up and more work on the cast shadow. I also went in and added some dents and scratches to her suit. This is the final, though I may revisit it once I finish my other assignments for the week, and do some paint-overs to see what I can achieve. :) Thank you so much for the fav!
Awesome manip btw, knew who it was right away!

I had a lot of fun with it, and learned a ton, too. Hopefully it will get a good grade. :P
