Giant F'ing Robots are Coming

The merchandise blitz started on Saturday, June 2nd, with the release of the movie toys.

Geeks, collectors, enthusiasts lined up at Target, Wal-mart, Toys R' Us, and various other stores to be among the first to purchase their own piece of the reboot of the Transformers franchise.

I was one of them, "lined up" at a Target. One of four guys waiting for toys. Was quite funny :grinyes:

I bought Jazz, Bumblebee, (robo-vision) Prime, and Arcee (Target exclusive).

Jazz, Bumblebee, and RV Prime have to be among the most difficult Transformers I've ever encountered. I actually needed to follow the diagram. A bunch of spring-loaded details on each.
Jazz just has very tight allowances for the transformation and requires care that you do not snap the front wheel-arm assembly.
Bumblebee has a button-activated transformation initiation... While holding down the button to attempt this I ended up snapping a connector and basically broke it.
Robo-vision Prime has a semitransparent head, so at the correct angle it looks like his eyes are glowing. RV. Prime is easy to transform until you get to his legs, at which point the automatically sliding armor shields get stuck on other parts at the feet/thighs and it's very difficult to lock the "sleeper" part of the truck into place. Also I thought I broke something when trying to open the front driver's side door and the little man inside disappeared. (he folds into the sleeper.)

Today, t-shirts became available via Michael Bay's website, http://www.giantfuckingrobotsarecoming.com/ . (unvulgar alternative, same destination)

Click here for a pic of the shirt

I have no connection to the site, I just figure some of us *cough*me*cough* might be interested in the shirts.
