Ok I am not happy with the lighting. Especially since I am now at work and am looking at it. My screen at work sucks compared to the one at home. I haven't figured out what I want for the background playing with a few ideas. All C/C is welcome.

I like the concept, it is cute. On my screen, also at work, it is very dark. Much of the detail is lost. Perhaps a little more direct light in the front? Keep working on it, I think she will be great when you are done.

Very cute!! I agree with Rae about the darkness & the detail getting lost. I would also add a touch of gloss to her lips, and maybe a slight reflection on her glasses.

I agree but then when I have more light up front to give more details it looks sucky at home like she is washed out or something like that. I have a great LCD monitor at home and all the colors come out great. But when I get here to work I have a piece of crap Dell CRT monitor. So do I make the picture in mind for those of us that have crappy monitors and it makes the picture dark and lose it's details. Or do I just do it by my monitor at home? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

I think you have to compromise a bit, since monitors vary widely. My LCD at home is very bright with great contrast. The one on my laptop at work is darker, with considerably less contrast. When I see images at work I've done here, they always look a bit washed out and darker. I've learned that I need to make things somewhat brighter and contrastier than I really want them, to ensure that they still look good on other monitors.
Unless you want to get into a rather expensive program that will calibrate your monitor to 'real world' exact settings, I figure the best you can do is look at your image on a few machines and get an idea of where your monitor sits in the scheme of things, and then go from there.
Nice concept, by the way, unique. But you're right, the lighting needs work, needs to be more dramatic, and not so single-level.

Nothing to add that hasn't been said - great textures on the clothes though!

Ok totally got revamped because of the background. Decided it was to dark with it. Not sure I like how the eyes come out. Can't get them to come out without the shine. May have to change to another eye color set.
Before I forget. Infamous by Lady LittleFox, Melancholy Baby for A3 by RebelMommy, KiriTe Hair and Umbrella by FK Designs, KiriTe Shades and Spoiled for Infamous by Outoftouch, The Roses are by Lisa's Botanicals, The Arch I have no clue where I got it but it fit perfect with what I had in mind. I think I remembered everything.

I like this image. The umbrella is similar to a piece I am working on for my language series. I miss the detail on the front of the dress though. The original concept was really cute. I would love to see the colors and brightness from the second image used on the first one. But that is my personal preference. For this piece, the only thing other than the eyes that stands out to me is the sheerness of the solid sections of the umbrella. You can see the wire frame of the umbrella. Is that intentional?
