Ooh I really like that border, very ethereal! Very nice portrait overall, Janthin. The lighting, or lack thereof, on her teeth is distracting, especially since there is so much highlighting on her necklace and the protruding pats of her face. Like her lips are way out in front of the teeth. The highlighting blobs on her eyes look a little too dull, doesn't give that shiny glow like the original idea. The background leaves are the perfect accent and her skin looks good, a little grainy but realy that's nit picking.

Elf portrait, with workflow :D

I've wanted to experiment more with using ZBrush as a more central part of my workflow, in the hopes of getting away somewhat from the Poser look. Not that there's anything wrong with Poser, but change is a good thing, it stirs up the creative juices.
Anyway, I used a DAZ figure (Victoria 4) to start from, put it into ZBrush, and changed it there, remodeling the face, head, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. I also used a commercial texture as my starting place, in this case the DAZ Helena texture.
Once I had the face as I wanted it, I lit and rendered it in ZBrush, taking the result out into Photoshop. Once in Photoshop, I painted in the hair, eyes, and many other details, smoothed out the image, changed the colors, added highlights, etc.
I then built the models for the earrings and the neckband, using Silo for the earrings, and Silo/Zbrush for the neckband. I rendered the neckband in ZBrush and moved the result to Photoshop. I rendered the earrings in Poser 7 and again moved the result to Photoshop. I composited the images.
Lastly I added various details by hand, leaves, flowers, other background elements, more touchups, nose piercing, border, effects, etc.
