Would anyone be interested in trying something new?

With the creation of our WebDesign forum, we felt that maybe we should encourage taking a step outside our comfort zone. I have a small proposal.

We are a blog nation - I should know, this entire board is my blog. Cower in its wondrous neatness!.../cough Obviously there is life after 3D, but what I'm wondering is - would anyone be interested in trying a little graphic design?

The world gave us WordPress, that was of course after Al Gore gave us the internet (go green!) and even I have dabbled in customizing wordpress themes for my family site. I enjoyed it tremendously, even when I was able to implement all the customization and have it go live. Would anyone be interested in trying a very basic workshop? Creating a customized theme for wordpress - any type and style that you want, for anyone or anything. It doesn't have to be for TAC, but it could very much be for yourself. I could be inspiring, pushing us to try new things and maybe find something we're good at.

Sound interesting at all?

sounds cool I like making them but I am very out of pratice, and a total newb to all the new stuff (*cough anything after html cough*) .. just ask vex ... lol

If the coding part of the whole idea is daunting to you - don't let it be, you can even just sketch ideas out on paper ( aka in photoshop ) called "mockups", they don't have to be functional, just implementable. Hey maybe some of the no-so-designerish people here would like to give a go at turning your mockup into a working theme.


Just an idea.

=) I love seeing other people experiment and learn, and I really hope some of you can find the time to take this challenge !

I'd love to play :). Another fun idea might be to try to make our own version of the zen garden - would be -really- neat to see an angry crayon version of the page :D.

I'm not real familiar with word press, but I'm interested in giving it a try. :)

I'd really like to learn to use and customize WordPress as I need a way to better integrate developer's logs into my portfolio site, so I'd definitely be interested!
