"We Own the Night" has been getting a standing ovation everywhere it has been shown, including the Cannes Film Festival. And for a good reason, since the film stars some of the best actors of our time. There are Oscar nominees Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix playing brothers at the opposite sides of the law, Oscar winner Robert Duvall as the father, and the beautiful Eva Mendes as the girlfriend.

The story is set at the height of a bloody 1980's struggle between New York cops and a Russian mob that targeted law officers and their families. Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix play siblings in a cop-dominated family, with Phoenix the black sheep who ends up managing a Russian mob-controlled nightclub.

"We Own the Night" is written and directed by James Gray, who worked with both Wahlberg and Phoenix on his last movie called "The Yards" back in 2000. "We Own the Night" hits theaters on October 12th.
