Hi!
Happy to say I'm working my first full-time permanent job after so many years of study. For now it's in dispatch for an Internet support company, but in time I hope to work my way into a graphic position.
Pretty small company some 50km north of Montreal, but at least I am driving opposite rush hour traffic, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The boss is a friend of friend of family, and despite a size of 40ish employees, we deal with Bell Canada directly and broker deals with corporations like Transat, Ultramar, and Aldo Shoes.
I deal mainly with the first 2 all across Canada (even the Yukon and Northwest Territories), which is a comfort to me since 90% of these clients are anglophone. Also a comfort to most of my co-workers whose first language is French. Sometimes - the ladies especially - manage to persuade me to call up technicians all the way over in the US of A!
Full-time job aside, I have also been doing some freelance logo/flyer design for one of my contacts in DC. Designs I'd like to display here for you to see, for 2 sister companies of his, Done Deal Wireless and Done Deal Productions.
First, the logos. Can't take credit for the actual fonts, but any decorative element including the double D's is entirely of my own design. All done in Illustrator:
Now, the flyers, for Done Deal Productions. A mix of vectors and bitmap images for these, purchased and manipulated from iStockphoto:
And finally a picture I took about a month ago, right after getting my 10-22mm Canon wide angle lens, scoring me a third Daily Deviation in my 2 years over at Deviant Art:
Nice to see you again Nek! I love your designs, very clean and vibrant! Glad you're doing what you love to do! /hug
