I'm with ya there Ry. I got a PM requesting CC, upon giving it I got a reply with, "Well I liked that the way it is, /sigh, why can't people appreciate good art and not pick it apart like it's something else"
WTF?
OMG, Immy I remember that. HAHA, it was one of my
favorite people, too.
I stopped requesting c/c because I wasn't getting it anymore so why bother? I think I'm in the same boat with you, Mae.
We had this same issue like 1 1/2 to 2 years ago, I think. There was this whole discussion on c/c etiquette.

I think I'm guilty of avoiding c/c nowadays. This sounds kind of lousy, but I'm just tired of the whole process. Newer manip artists are making all the same blunders that everyone goes through in the beginning, and even though they haven't heard my comments, I feel like a broken record because I see the same things over and over again and have the same comments to make. And when it comes to veteran manip artists, I know it's easy to become really comfortable with your own personal style and I'm afraid someone will take offense if I make a comment about something they have ALWAYS done.
I think Saraq nailed it on the head with the generations on NS, and other forums. I have noticed that newer members get more critique than us veterans. And c/c seems to be a trend that goes in waves. Sometimes it feels like EVERYONE is eager and ready to c/c everything in sight, and sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get one constructive comment out of people.
*shrug* I'm over it. When I need honest-to-god-tear-it-up c/c, I contact trusted peers directly.
