[Chaoscope] Old Fractals

Most of my creativity has been in the toilet recently.

I was cleaning out my computer in work to set up a replacement and found a bunch of old fractal images I'd rendered last summer or the summer before.

I'll attach a couple but I've added links to the end here to my site with a big long messy list of those I found.

These were created in Chaoscope, though I dunno which version. I found the original attribute/base files to recreate these pieces however it didn't save camera angles or anything like that, and I didn't feel like playing with them all that much.

Most of the attached are either Julia or Lorenz fractals rendered in Plasma or Light - I didn't mark them and again, didn't feel like playing with the original base files to see what they were.

I've redownloaded Chaoscope as well as Apophysis just to play around and do something visual as opposed to written. I have a couple newer pieces I'll post later.

On one hand I was reluctant to post these because for some reason I don't feel like I did anything to actually create them.
All I really did was push a couple sliders, whip the camera around, and tweak it a bit more by digit, and render and give it a fun name.
But that's what creativity is, isn't it?

You can view the other 58 or so from the "old" series by looking at the Listing by File or List of Images with Names.

I used to play with Ultrafractal (which is free but doesn't let you save, but you can print screen with the trial version), I think its called, it's listed somewhere in the resource section. I love love the broken kite one!

fractals are badass - once you learn the controls you can actually create REALLY nice pictures:

That DA is pretty amazing.

Unfortunately her Tutorials are missing/gone.

There's no manual, and the tutorials linked from other folks' sites just don't make any sense. I can read it and find out what a control is and what it does, but /why/ do I want to do that? What changes can I expect? It's not unlike the frustration I had attempting to learn CSS.

This guy's stuff is amazing too.

Found these two while sorting more of my e-packrattery.
