seriously.

ok, I'm still trying to make sense of this one... did the officer miss the part where her job involves a degree of risks??

I especially love the part where her lawyer says, "It's a situation where the Cosmillos have caused these problems, brought them on themselves, then tried to play the victim."

granted, the pool should have been child proofed, the door properly locked, whatever. but anyone who spends any time at all around kids realizes pretty damn quick that kids figure out how to get around most childproofing. not to mention, that accidents do happen, no matter how careful you are to prevent them. hell, just a few weeks ago, my 2 year old dragged a stool halfway across the house (around a counter and an island in the kitchen no less) , climbed up on it to get to the bananas, pulled out a knife from the knife block (which until that moment I would have sworn was out of reach) and cut it into pieces. all in the time it took me to go to the bathroom. thank god, the little twerp didn't cut himself or fall off the stool. but it never would have occured to me that he would go to those lengths at this age to have a banana. he's too damn smart for my good, lemme tell you.

it's bad enough when your "friends" sue because they got hurt on your property... so i'm not entirely certain why i'm surprised a cop responding to an emergency call wouldn't...

I work for the State Bar Association in my state, and the stuff I hear daily from people wanting money for wrongs they've imagined have been done to them... is staggering. This, though, blows them ALL out of the water. I can NOT believe that there could be someone so callous and unfeeling of others to be able to do something this disgustingly heartless! Gah! I can't imagine something so devastating happening to me, and THEN having this lawsuit slapped on for good measure... it's just staggering.

My husband works for an insurance company; the other day he emailed me and told me to find a lawyer to kick; apparently he had recently assisted a customer in purchasing insurance for a FAMILY REUNION in case something happened and a family member filed a lawsuit against them. W...T...F...
Sometimes people make me embarrassed to be the same species as them

Mike's extended family is full of life sucking harpies that should die horrible deaths. I'm floored when I hear shit about his Aunt trying to screw her own brother, his dad. It's to the point that Mike refuses to speak to her or acknowledge her to which I said, 'jesus fucking christ, it's about time.'

This has been all over the local news here. She's been put on leave due to so many calls into the police saying that people don't want her to come to respond to any potential calls. She did officially drop the lawsuit. The police higher ups advised her to do so, and they have been stating from the get go that they did not support her in this lawsuit. Especially since they gave her two months off without any second thought to get back in working condition after her knee injury.

Who wants a cop who'll sue you for calling in an emergency? It's ridiculous.

gots to love it. definetly rates as one of the dumbest lawsuits i've seen in awhile.

and i wouldn't want to worry that the next time i have to call 911 that i may get sued because i forgot to clean the house before calling in the emergency...
