Well they're discontinuing it because people don;t use it. Maybe if more insurance companies COVERED it then they would. That *totally* bites for people who have to stab themselves multiple times a day to get insulin =(

Might be because of all those idiots who abuse insulin for other reasons.

It was just approved in the US like 2 years ago - but it's pretty hard to actually get. I'm surprised I was even able to get it in Alaska considering my parents couldn't get it down in Washington state. Air Force picked it up before the Navy even thought of it. Shame. =/ We get our meds free but we usually have to wait 2-5 years for the military to approve.
Unless its viagra of course.

And here I was taking insulin because I'd die without it!

Often used in combination with steroids, insulin improves stamina by increasing the manufacture of the muscle fuel, glycogen, made from circulating blood glucose. Taking glucose and insulin simultaneously for a couple of hours, known as a 'hyperinsulinaemic clamp', enhances the conversion process.

Both sides of my family have a history of diabetes, and I constantly oversugar myself. Sugar in my Coke, sugar in my sugar (yeah, I eat it straight), constant trips to the local bakery... Probably gonna end up needing insulin myself sometime in the future.
