Amy Winehouse - classy lady!

Amy Winehouse was booed off the stage during the first stop of her UK tour in Birmingham last night. She did her usual slurring and mumbling and then at one point dedicated a song to her husband Blake Fielder-Civil who is in prison for witness tampering. The crowd started booing which elicited a response from Amy before dropping the microphone and walking off stage, according to the BBC:[INDENT] "To them people booing, wait 'til my husband gets out of incarceration. And I mean that." Some fans have contacted the BBC to say they would be seeking a refund.

I never have been able to figure out how she's made it as far as she has.

Seriously, I saw one performance...if you want to call it that. I've never heard of her before then though. I guess she's suppose to have a real sultry voice or something?

I remember when her first "big" song was out. I got so sick of seeing that fucking video. And yeah, she has a voice that's on the deeper range of the female voices. Everytime I see her in an interview on performance she looks half there.

I've never heard of her. But I'm glad that she's going to have her soon to be ex-con husband beat everyone up. That's greatness.

Me either Rikr. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Tho I feel as though I need to take out my eyeballs and rinse 'em off after looking at that picture. Charming.

Well, supposedly she's been bulimic. I half expected to see some vomit leaking down her chin in that pic.

What really boggles my poor little mind is why does the music industry allow this. I mean she's drunk/high on the job. Why don't they get tough? Oh I guess it would hurt their pocket books if their employees actually did what they were paid to do.

I would hit it.

She's quite big here in UK, I like a couple of her songs but she herself is a mess. She's always in the papers/news for being drunk or stoned or both.

She's the UK's Brittney minus the kids?

And about 30lbs.

+ a big dose of heroin.

I actually feel bad for her...and I don't really know why because I usually have no sympathy for self destructive asswipes. At this rate she'll be dead within a year or two. I think Britney is like herpes.

The video of her supposedly pulling a tissue out of her hair and using it is pretty funny. Even if she wasn't pulling it out of her hair, she was standing there like she wasn't part of the show for a pretty substantial amount of time.

I have heard of her, but only on the news, as in "Amy Winehouse was drunk and/or stoned in public" I do feel bad for self-destructive people. It is bad enough that they are ruining their own lives, but chances, they are also ruining the lives of folks around them.

This is a great picture of her http://img.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/winnooo__oPt.jpg ...

6 Grammy nominations. If she makes it that far. I don't know if it's possible but her family needs to have this bitch committed. Some one needs to do something because she clearly cannot function or make decisions. People around her need to stop fucking enabling her because she can't help herself.

It frustrates me. If this was my kid I would take her ass to the middle of no where and lock her in a room until she saw the light of day.

If she's so out of it she's wandering around London is a bra and jeans some one needs to go ok hold the fuck up and put her ass somewhere she will stop harming herself. Apparently the people around her must be absolutely BALL-LESS because she's allowed to continue to behave this way.

:razz I looked on her record company's website. What is the first thing I see but I thread saying "Help her!!" ..at least I'm not the only one that feels her record company should step the fuck in.

I know at my ex's company they would pay for rehab if you came to them you know before you got caught and hurt some one or yourself at work. Where are the ethics at?

Oh I know they went up Amy's nose along with the coke and the kitchen sink.

Furthermore...don't they realize that when she dies they won't be making money off of her? She's no Elvis, they won't get 40 years of massive profits from her death.

On a good note....

Jody Foster finally came out of the closet! Hooray!

Now if Queen Latifah would come out we could all be one happy gay, multi-racial family. I understand wanting respect for your privacy but I think celebrities that come out help the gay community so much. I think it just shows that anyone from anywhere can be gay and it's ok.

She came out? I didn't see that. I guess like a lot of folks I just assumed she was gay. It doesn't really matter to me if she is gay or straight...I love her work. I do feel that if you are that guarded about your life and your privacy, then perhaps a different line of work would have been in order :)

Do you really feel that her coming out will be a boon to the gay community? If so, that is great. I don't really see it as having much effect either way. I can tell you that my cousin finally came out when he was 40 and to us, it made no difference whatsoever, we love him...period. But...the difference to him was amazing...he seems more free and much happier.

My only feeling is that coming out for many gay people is a very hard thing. Something that many gay people struggle with for years and that a celebrity coming out, especially one that is so recognizable and accepted, that maybe it might help straight people see it as more acceptable and maybe help people who are in the closet feel safe enough to live honestly.

My best friend came out when we were 17. It was easy for her. But it's not so easy for everyone and to me that's a real shame =\ People are people and shouldn't be judged on who they love but who they are and how the represent themselves.

I think people like Ellen and Melissa Etheridge have made it easier by being who they are. But I'm not gay so I can't speak for the gay community and only have my own feeling to spew everywhere =P
