I resolve every year to lose weight and every year I don't lose anything. This year might be different. I have had a flu bug for 2 weeks now and am down 5 pounds LOL.

I've been watching those really graphic surgery shows with people who lose massive amounts of weight - like 300+ pounds thru gastric bypass surgery and I've pretty much decided that I NEVER want that to happen to me. I keep thinking - 'those people on the biggest loser loose half their body weight without surgery...' and I know there are always other medical reasons why people who opt for surgery can't do it by diet/exerciser alone but...GOD it's just so...evasive and scary. =x So that and the threat of long term diabetic problems have been troubling me lately. My mother's friend who ignored her diabetes for YEARS is on dialysis 3 times a week, just had more toes cut off, had heart bypass surgery already and calls my mother non-stop during her dialysis trips that it upsets my mother to see her that way, so some serious resolutions I have are:

1. Continuing to monitor my diabetes. I can live with shots and finger sticks - just so I have fucking fingers to do sticks with in the future and to cross them for a cure in the next 10 years.

2. Lose the 20lbs I've gained from this pregnancy and the weight I gained while pregnant with Catherine.

3. Do more art.

4. Seriously consider writing a separate story from my characters that were created from Sanguine Afflictions.

5. Call my brother more.

6. Try not to lose my temper when visiting Mike's crazy sister's family.

7. Above all, be a better mother and wife. =)

Those sound like good resolutions. I hope you can see them through and keep it up :) just like I can find my way to keeping my resolution of losing weight (yes...boring I know to have the same resolution as half of the US)

oh and a cure to diabetes would be so awesome! My friend's daughter has JD since she was 18 months old, she is now 6.

I need to get around to actually getting my ribs and spine checked again. This time last year I was getting MRIs and an EMG, which led to a few months of PT before finally being released to go back to the gym. In early November, the bones moved again and I had to cut off the physical activities. It's really pissing me off, but I just haven't found the time to go to the doc again.

It's weird knowing that most people get gym memberships and just stop going because they don't feel like it. I have a membership and I keep wanting to go back, but physically can't. It's the "no time for the doc" thing... bleh.

My Serious Resolutions Include:

1. Be the best (err...a better) Husband and Father I can be.
2. Do more art / create a new website, maybe a family one.
3. Lose about 20 pounds by my birthday, which equates to about 1 pound a week. I figure this is doable if I stop drinking sodas, and eating oreos, and all the other sugary things I like to eat. :(
4. Do at least 5 of the 50 projects I want to do around the house.
5. Get into something like Yoga to help me de-stress.

I think anything more than this, I would just be kidding myself. If I can get 3 out of these 5 done, I'll consider my resolutions a success.

1) Be a better momma and wife.
2) Loose the weight I was starting to loose pre-preggo.
3) Stop worrying and stressing so much.
4) Get back into my art stuff finally.
5) Learn to cook some more things.

Hmmm.

1) Loose some weight *before* I become a beached whale...oh wait....ok, now will do.
2) Learn to type/spell again. (Lose not loose in #1). Hard to believe I was once top of the class for spelling.
3) Continue to do art, master this 3D stuff and do some more freehand cos I'm not so bad at that either really.
4) Get my finger out my arse and actually move to USA this year. Need to find a job that side of the water...
5) Try be a better daughter and sister, but that means over coming my somewhat antosocial persona. (EQ and art are *sooooo* much more interesting than 'Wonderpets')
6) Don't make resolutions I don't intend to keep.

1) Do more art.. especially non 3D. I want to not only make more time for this, but to get back into photomanips and digital painting. Not stop 3D but branch out more. (this one will be hard!)
2) Keep up with the "me" and "girl" time I have started doing with friends, and keep doing things that make me feel better about myself, and try to find more.
3) Spend more time with my family (They're maybe 30 mins across town and I see them maybe once every few months outside of the holiday season)
4) Lose more weight, and work seriously at it. Over the past 6 months I've lost 30-40lbs (it fluctuates) just casually tweaking my eating habits, now I really want to really start eating *right* and exercising. I have a LOT more to go still until I am at my "goal" *siiiigh* (dieting won't be so hard but the exercise... I have had a gym membership for over 2 years, and never set foot in the place. =/ )
