COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — A father gave his 10-year-old daughter a Christmas present that would make Santa blush.

Now Daryl Hill wants to know why an MP3 video player he bought at a Wal-Mart in Sparta was preloaded with pornography and explicit songs.

Hill bought three of the players as Christmas presents for his children. He said one of the devices had apparently been returned to the store from a previous owner who loaded sex clips and songs with lyrics about using drugs.

“Within 10 minutes, my daughter was crying,” Hill said Thursday. “I wish I could take the thoughts and images out of her head.”

Hill questioned why Wal-Mart Stores Inc. would sell used merchandise as new, which he said violates its own policies.

A company spokesman said in an e-mail to WSMV-TV of Nashville that stores are not supposed to return opened packages to the sales floor and that the matter was under investigation.

Hill said he declined Wal-Mart’s offer to replace the MP3 player. He said he has already bought his daughter a new one and is hanging onto the controversial one until he talks to a lawyer.

I was watching this show on cable the other day about WalMart and its practices. Boy, it was not flattering lol. 80% of their crime occurs in their parking lot and stores nationwide have experienced rapes, murders, robbery - you name it - without allegedly doing anything about it. I like WalMart, for the most part. It's cheap, I just don't delude myself and insist on stellar customer service, you just won't get it.

This sort of stuff happens every year, and every year it gets reported. Every year, nothing happens to fix it.

Speaking of Wal-Mart's history of crimes, we had a guy here recently steal a shotgun from them. He scared the shit out of everyone in the area, then drove to Walgreen's to steal some money. Then he hit the guy in the face with the gun, drove off, and got caught at a residential area later. Within a week, there was a beating in the Wal-Mart parking lot when a car full of teens hopped out and jumped some kid sitting on a bench before driving off.

thanks to walmart, the company i was working for was forced out of business - and not because they were a competitor. i was working for a commercial construction company and we were one of the subs building the damn things all over the country. someone at corporate got some paperwork messed up and, without warning, they pulled all of our contracts, claiming we were using illegal workers (which we weren't - it was another sub, who is still working on their stores). 2 monthes later, after we were forced to declare banruptcy and the company folded, they called an wanted to know when we could come back to work... wtf? that was when we found out it was a paperwork snafu that caused the whole problem to begin with - even after we had proven that everyone on our crews were legal to work in the US. the worst part was that all this went down the week before christmas - 95% of our people were laid off the friday before. it was an absolute nightmare.
