Glamorous

This was painted a few days ago...all day...... morning till night, only 2 breaks.....

The canvas is 6000 pixels high and 4500 pixels across... so VERY big.....

I have enclosed some hi-res detailed shots at 100% resolution so ya can see how big i painted her at.
I don't know why, but I don't seem to be progressing with my hair painting at all....well I don't think so. My boyfriend is a painter (better than me) and he tells me the bigger the canvas the better the image compresses but in regards to hair it makes it more difficult to paint sometimes. Well I tried a canvas double the size of my normal ones. Even though its improved my eye painting..... the hair seems to stay the same... I can't seem to grasp how to paint it properly.. I've tried painting it with acrylics, airbrushes,.... I just don't get it! So any help, tips, hints whatever you can give... would be awesome.

I have a much harder time painting hair with a larger canvas... (and most people gush over my hair, don't ask me why... lol)

I generally put my images at 50% or smaller so I can work on hair - Mainly because you want each strand to be one stroke... Loooooooooong strokes are they key to sexy fabulous hair, when you do small short strokes you end up with hair that looks choppy.

I may do things differently than most but I just can not paint hair on a huge huge canvas, because you can only work on parts of it at once, which makes them end up not really working all together.

I love this image, btw ... :) Her eyes are striking... The only thing that stands out to me is the triangle part of her lip ring, its flat, even if its meant to be black, I'd still expect some light to hit it and reflect off of it, right now it seems super flat.

Hiya hun,

Yes I found that painting hair on a large tablet is a pain in the ass..... The portrait I'm doing now i have zoomed out to do the hair like you and my boyfriend suggested. It's making it work much better and I can see the whole canvas.... yay!

Thanks!
