I thought it would be a good idea to watch this with the kid. She hardly ever watches any TV at all and I thought it would be a good show that she could socialize with other kids about at their version of the water cooler. Didn't know the show was this time consuming/addicting!

David's been one of our favorites from the beginning. We also like the Australian guy (who looked -really- hot last night, mmm), the kid with the dreadlocks (though I wasn't feeling him last night), the guy with the unusually large forehead, and I of course like the excessively pretty boy. David really increased his lead in my mind last night, though.

There are a lot of girls I like too - Brooke is probably my favorite, but Asai'h grows on me every time I hear her, and that really little asian girl is really talented too. I enjoy watching the Janis Joplin nurse and the 'yes' girl as well. The girls seem to be a little less consistent over all, so new 'likes' emerge and people I thought I liked turn out to suck :\. I thought the girl who did impressions was really good but she was -dreadful- last week - looked like, as Simon said, "night of the living dead".

Last week it seemed like the people I didn't like got kicked off, except for the plus size model - I thought there were other girls who did worse. This week for the boys I would be content if the tremendous dork with the streak of white hair, and the 'rocker' who toured with Britney Spears got kicked, but there was another guy who sang a Queen song and was just an everloving disaster, so he could go as well.

I never got into American Idol until this year -- I thought I would just watch the auditions for fun but didn't think I'd really be interested in the competition part of it after the auditions were over -- was I wrong! I am a hooked lemming! My kid loves the show too!
I think my favorite guys are David A, Robbie and Michael - David H. did great last nite too. I agree with Verileah - I don't like Jason (the dork with the white streak). And there's something about Danny N. that just creeps me out.
As for the girls -- not many are as good as the guys. Brooke & Amanda are my favorites. Kady was boring again tonight -- I am sure she will be voted out.

How many times has Simon said the word "ghastly" this week??

Also -- who was your favorite "worst" audition??? Mine would definitely be Renaldo ("I am Your Brother") and Alexis Cohen ("Take it, Simon! Take it!!). Oh and how can we forget the Princess Leia girl??

The girls just did not bring it on tonight like the guys did last night I think. Carly and Sayesha were pretty good i thought, but still not as good as the guys. I really like Ramiele too for the girls. Watching Asia'h tonight I would really like to see her try some Tina Turner. I was really disappointed with Amanda tonight...I've really liked her all along.

/agree. Something about Carly has rubbed me the wrong way since the beginning but considering her competition, she really stood out last night. I thought Syesha was just okay. Even Brooke wasn't sounding her best :\.

I hope the girl who does impressions and that other uninteresting blonde get voted off - the one who likes her food to not touch her other food (and was that seriously the best she could come up with?). I like Amanda, but I feel like this is strike two for her - she needs to get her act together and a lot of the other contestants already -have- their ducks in a row, so I don't know that she deserves too many chances. I'll be bummed if she gets kicked, but not terribly surprised or disillusioned.

Not to mention she absolutely butchered her song. But then song choice all around was terrible last night. Hopefully next week they will have learned it's not about picking what you like but picking what you can sing.
