*laughs* Now the courts are going to try to settle -this-? That's like...courts ruling on the validity of plate tectonics or something O_o. I would express doubt that the courts would make such a ruling, but I can't honestly do it :\.

Now whether they nail Gore for fraud is another matter and I don't think it necessarily has to have any bearing on the validity of global warming.

I would be glad to see him actually debate his position on the subject. I dont really care what venue it is in.

I'm more interested in what the scientists themselves have to say about it than the spin doctors :\.

Im sure if this goes to litigation you will get to hear both sides of the story from the scientists that are for and against Gore. There is plenty of information out there just do a google search you will find plenty of it.

Yeah I'm actually not entirely uninformed on the issue.

I'm one of those who believe the changing climate is just part of our planet's cyclic progression.

I am on the same line Vish. I found this interesting because this guy got the Nobel this year for his work on an issue that is important, but his facts have all been called in to question.

Hard to say one way or another. You really can't trust scientists too much, either, since they have their own motives and agendas. Even when there is full disclosure of the methodology behind the research, unless you yourself have a masters in the subject you can easily be fooled. Its like anything else. You can easily spin results to suit your needs. And if not, you can just throw out results you don't like (see the whole 6 degrees of separation thing for a good example).
