Cleaning - Work In Progress

Enclosed are some vile and graphic images of the work
of a boy's room in progress.

Bed, with about half of the floor on it:

Part of a previously ugly corner consolidated into
the closet:

Whoo. Y'know, when my sister and I shared a room and had to clean up, it was not uncommon for us to find something that belonged to the other and we'd be enraged that it contributed to the mess on our side. We'd throw the offending item across our invisible line down the center of the room, "This is YOURS! And THIS! YOURS! KEEP YOUR STUFF OFF OF MY SIDE!!" I don't even want to think about how bad it would have been if our room looked like the one in the images!

Well, most of those pictures are mid-cleaning. So to go to bed/etc a lot of "move A to B to get to C" goes on.

Fer instance, the pic with the closet door open... All of the boxes (and then some) that are on my bed in the first pic had been in front of the door.

I really need to find out where I can get rid of 4-5 CRT monitors without having to pay to get them recycled. And the computers could probably go - at least two of them are non-functional - but again outside of donating them to say Goodwill, I don't know where to take them.

Packratitis. I've got it bad.
My brother has it worse, though.

And yes, I have a mid-sized fridge in my room. Usually during the summer it holds water or juice. Right now I think it has a bottle of wine and a pack of peanut butter and jelly krimpets. Oh and my aftershave.

1, 2: Items I got from woot that are planned to be apportioned to the household as needed. Remote controls, headphones, something else I dun remember
3: Lamp is older than me.
4: Wii box. Probably don't really need that anymore.
5: 19 inch monitor. one of two in the room - But I don't know if it works or not, someone *cough*notme*cough* mixed them up. There's also a 17 inch Apple monitor on the floor deeper in the closet, as well as two 17 inch dell monitors elsewhere right now.
6, 7: Old family PCs that have outgrown their usefulness... They'd be running as media servers or something but for A) Space and B) electricity
8 - My older-than-dirt window fan that doesn't even have a functioning speed unit anymore. I just have one of those little 3-dollar plug switch dealies from Home Depot.
9: My own personal selection of birthday and holiday wrapping paper. It had been under the bed.
10: Pullman stool. Yes, an original, steel, right-off-the-trainyard Pullman stool. It was my grandfather's. He used to do repair work.
11: Bills?
12: Greeting cards. Yeah. For some reason, I had ALL of the greeting cards - birthday, anniversary, holiday - ever given me by my first girlfriend.
13: Trashcan holds a dozen or so very old Boy Scout manuals, including IIRC a Scoutmaster manual from the 40s.
14: N64, SNES, PSOne, and behind that little stand are two old, dead VCRs. The Wii is on top, behind my shirts.
15: Top drawer is full of movies and old NES games. The other two are my brother's but I think they're empty. The bottom three are "mine". I should probably go through and clean out stuff that doesn't fit me.
16 (hiding on the bottom below the Pullman) : Clothes for donation

is it bad I can remember just about everything I labeled?

This makes my cleaning project look like a cake walk! I don't think we ended up with that big a mess cleaning out the whole house!

Wanna race? Realtor wants to get this house on the market in 30 days...

Standard procedure at the hospital for a long time was to toss the CRTs in the dumpster en masse. Nowadays, the local commie college comes by to pick up stuff for tech students to attempt to repair or just dissect for knowledge. Of course, anything just completely broken is still dumpstered. The EPA would probably throw a fit.

Tonight's Update, ~45 minutes before m'Lady is scheduled to arrive.

This is as good as it's gonna get until the weekend.

My bed, not ideal but I'll take it.

My Pit of Despair window corner. Anyone need some plastic convenience store bags?

The Entertainment Centre... Crap I need to wipe the TV. *runs and does that*

Brother's bed and floor are both horrendous (but not as bad as it was) and workable, respectively.

My own desk is not ideal at all but it looks "used."

It's not perfect. But it's a damn sight better than it was.
