Orson Scott Card to JK Rowling: STFU

He has a weird fixation/dislike of Rowling, I think, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in this case and say he was being sarcastic when he claimed that he thought Rowling borrowed his story. Because, otherwise...give me a break.

I find this all very interesting coming from him, as he is so adamantly opposed to fanfic and defends his copyrights to the fullest. And his reasoning makes sense. Rowling wants to write her own lexicon and give the proceeds to charity. Not only could she now potentially lose sales, but the unapproved lexicon author could sue -her- if he decides their works are too similar, which they almost certainly would be. This is -exactly- OSC's reasoning behind not allowing fanfic of his works. He writes sequels. You do the math.

I do agree with him about the 'dumbledore is gay' thing (minus the venom, I'm not pissed or anything, but grow a pair, you know?).
