Its from a series of popular books by Stephanie Meyer. Problem is the two main characters are high school students :P

I have read two of the books, and am in the process of reading a third, and they're ok. There are also werewolves involved later on in the story, also a high school one ;)

What is the huge hype about this movie? A day walking, non biting, no fanged vampire boy and a human girl with big bad guys coming to get them. I can think of a half dozen of us here who have written better vampire plots than that.
What gives? What is this movie and am I just too old to know about it? =x
