XFiles - I want to believe in Mulder/Scully sex!
http://afk2pee.com/blog/?p=447

I giggled myself stupid watching this movie as a die hard MSR fan. (Mulder/Scully Romance for those not in the know). The movie itself was pretty good - descent plot, yadda yadda yadda they get the bad guys but really, that’s not what a MSR “shipper” really watched this movie for. I was all about their romance since the end of the series.
There is a multitude of fan fiction out there since the beginning of the series. Back in 1999, I swear during what must be the height of MSR fan fic, a site was featured in Entertainment Weekly that got me hooked on it. Some of the fan fic was SO bad it was good. I even wrote a little of it myself.
Some MSR fan fiction links:

The last two links are legendary in this community and, as you can see, these links are pretty damn old.

You have your ‘Shippers’ and then you have your SLASH. Oh that slash was just plain dirty, /giggle. You have your: Mulder/Scully, Mulder/Krycek, Krycek/Scully, Skinner/Mulder, Skinner/Scully, Krycek/Skinner and that’s just to name a few different variations. Seriously, I sat and read for hours…for DAYS. Most of it is crap but in the ’spookyawards’ site you’ll actually find some very well written short stories.
‘I want to believe’ isn’t so much a sequel to the first X Files movie but a continuation to the series, basically picking up X (no pun intended) amount of years after both Mulder and Scully leave the FBI. Mulder in seclusion and Scully continuing her life as a medical doctor trying to save a poor kid with a horrible brain disease.
The basis of the movie is - the FBI agrees to forgive everything if Mulder will come back to help find a missing FBI agent. Scully is enlisted to persuade him (not that hard at all) and together they return to assist Amanda Peet’s Special Agent Whitney special team. There is, of course, an X File catch which equals to - a psychic played by Billy Connolly’s Father Joseph.
Long story short (spoiler ahead)
Father Joe is a pedophile that Mulder, of course, believes in and actually does have a psychic connection to the missing FBI agent’s kidnapper. Scully saves Mulder and Skinner makes an appearance at the end.
This is a true X File with none of the ‘conspiracy’ craziness that, personally, I think really fucked up the ending of the series. You do get to see Mulder and Scully’s relationship and how it has evolved since their parting with the FBI. You even get to see them in bed.
/squee!
In the end both Mulder and Scully have personal decisions to make. To give up or to stay the course. It’s a happy ending, kind of…not really, but MSR fans will definitely enjoy it. I know I did. I squeed myself stupid and my daughter had no idea what the hell was up with me giggling at the end.
Oh and stay after the credits. It’s short but cute.
