Who's that hot potato!?

I'm pretty sure his name is Freddie Stroma...a newcomer.

I read the wiki on his character. Apparently he's the guy Ron replaces as Keeper in the weird beat the hell out of your classmates game.

It is a good book but I have read more poor reviews then good. I went to buy tickets and was reading the reviews and out of the first TWO pages there was only 3 good ones ... I am super sad now /cry I will go see anyways because to each his own and whatnot but I guess I wont go in with any high hopes lol Not that i had any that they would be as good as the books anyways but you know what I mean haha!

We now know that Draco Malfoy holds a baby bird and looks emo/pensive.

You decide.

Is this the one where Harry and Ginny notice each other?

Loved it - this was my favorite yet. I think this is a better movie if you've read the book - the few people I know that saw it and have only seen the movies were a bit confused on points and said it didn't feel like anything happened - but that wasn't the case for me as I know a bunch happened (we just don't know it yet)

Spoilers....

I enjoyed 90 percent of the movie, but hated the ending. What happened to the badass fight between deatheaters and DA and Order of the Phoenix people? What was the point of bringing the deatheaters into Hogwarts anyway, if they weren't going to do anything but offer Draco encouragement and break some glass? And to come into Hogwarts and meet no resistance, to be able to just frolic around without encountering any of the good guys, just seems wrong.

I also feel like they're totally leaving no mystery surrounding Snape. I guess most people have read the books and they feel like trying to leave ambiguity in his character would be pointless? I was totally waiting for him to go apeshit on Harry for calling him a coward, but there wasn't a fight or anything, just a little snarking and then the death eaters all got away...not that anyone was seriously trying to stop them or anything.

Geez, bad guys deserve to win at this rate. The ending just rendered pointless so many little details of the movie. Why bother putting in Greyback if he doesn't end up clawing someone's face (yeah, I know it's supposed to be Bill but he's not really in the movies)? Why mention the Peruvian Darkness Powder if not to show it being used against them in battle? Why all those shots of Draco struggling with the cabinet if he didn't even need the death eaters to help him get to Dumbledore?

Just a little more hate and then I'll get to the good stuff. Ginny. Wtf? She was annoying in this book but I mostly blamed the author for not fleshing her out properly. But the movie took the only cool thing about her (quidditch skills) and replaced it with "*smooch* that can stay hidden up here too, if you like..." Bleh. I didn't like that in the books Harry basically cast her aside to go off and fight evil, but I think the movie made that whole 'lock the girl up safely in the tower' thing way worse. Meh, at least they didn't stick her completely in the fridge.

All that said, I really did have a good time watching the movie. The main characters were well done, Alan Rickman was brilliant, and I really thought they did Draco's storyline justice - much more than I was expecting, actually. I laughed several times and thought the hormone-addled cast was well played without being too overdone. Lavender was great - the weaknesses in her character and storyline were the fault of the book, not the movie, and I thought the adaption was an improvement. The acting is getting much better overall.

I couldn't remember the details from the book on the ending so maybe that is why it didn't bother me - I remember sitting in the movie thinking it odd the DEs didn't attack anyone else, but just assumed they were mainly after Albus
