Faithful to the book, but reading the book is still its own reward. Rorschach was excellent, the other characters were competent or better. Direction was good - lots of action and fighting of course but some really elegant shots too, and the story telling was done with a minimum of spoon feeding so you had to pay attention. Even knowing what was coming, there were some parts that were too violent for me. There are some parts that went over better in film form (for me) and some lines that didn't work as well when spoken out loud - if anything, these parts were too loyal to the source material.

Yeah I agree. Some minor changes but they were moot not even big enough to fuss about. Think they did really well in the story telling and characters. The whole effects were fanfuckingtastic imho. :)

Yeah, for some peoples

... dude there were people with their fucking 3 and 5 year old kids in the theater . i was wth are you doing with you kid here? They let you bring them in ? .......................
They were all like yeah , no biggie. I was like wow seriously. Clearly you have never read anything about Watchmen let alone the comic? You deserve the nightmares it will give them .. them some more people came in and was complaining to them too.
I seriously worry about some people.

Oh my god, there was a little girl sitting a seat over from me when we saw it. I heard this little gasp during the fight scene in the beginning, with all the blood, and I looked over and she was maybe...10, 11? What the fuck? It's a RATED R MOVIE. Fucktard parents. I was 6 when I saw Alien and 7 when I saw Conan, and I have fucking nightmares, yo. =/ Well, not so much from Conan, I was just exposed to an orgy scene a lot earlier than what was probably prudent. O_o

WTF Roz and you didn't say anything to them? ... The lady prolly thoguht i was some kind of super bitch and thumbed her nose up at me but who the fuck was leaving not even a few scenes later ... i was just trying to help her out lol
i guess I am a fuddy dud or something but anything rated P13/R we see first then decide if it is ok for Jewel and or Tony to watch. The kids have enough troubles and dealings with fights and shooting I dont feel the need to add extra on their plate if i don't have to. Plus it saves me the extra money on movie tickets. i would have to pay that much only to turn around and leave ... wasted money = teh suck.
In England we couldn't even take Tony to see colverfield even with us due to the rating. LOL They should totally stick to their guns on ratings and not let kids in to see R rated movies wtf ... Clearly parents need help. /rolleyes

Most theaters won't let kids under a certain age see rated r movies past 6, at least out here anyway.

After I noticed the girl, I turned to Mike and pointed a finger at the girl. 'YOU SEE THAT LITTLE GIRL NEXT TO ME?' She probably didn't hear me, but they stayed the entire movie. On my way out I said something again and we heard some baby/toddler screaming way up front toward the end.

So hard to get a baby sitter? Dang, we did.

Theaters in Texas are pretty lax about that stuff.

If a kid is with their Parents they figure its ok then.

But when I was 10-12 years old - My dad used to make me watch stuff like Friday the 13th and Halloween and Dawn of the Dead etc

I think if I didnt start watching horror at such a young age I wouldnt like it as much now....

I like to be shocked when I watch a Movie.

Yeah but the almost rape scene isn't something I'd like Catherine watching.

Ugh - we had several small children in our theater, several right behind us. I was concerned, but I think something went wrong there a long time before Watchmen came out. One of the little boys (like 9 years old or so) said 'She deserved it' after the attempted rape scene.

I covered my eyes for the arm sawing thing :X.

Yeah true - I can see something like that being bad. Rape scenes or even hardcore sex scenes etc. Stuff you dont wanna have to explain to your child.

But I think blood and overall gore and violence in general is fine...You can call me weird =P but thats how I feel hehe

I used to think it was cool watching Jason go around murdering people in fucked up ways.

Saw it, and loved it. Went with my sister and my neice who almost 11. Sis and I knew it was gonna be violent (no idea just HOW much so) and there would be nudity (she's female, she know what boobs are so we didn't think that was a big deal). Since she'd seen 300 we were like ok, she understands cinematic violence and isn't affected by it. Any kind of a sex scene she knows to immediately turn her face into her Mom's arm and wait to be told its ok to look back.. But.. What had us both freaked out was the amount of male frontal nudity. Afterwards we were like.. Doey, have you ever seen a male nude before? She was like nope. And we looked at each other and were like well.. I guess you have now. She looked at us funny and was like huh? I didn't even notice... *lol*
