Mosquitos

So Guy cut the grass the other night, and suddenly there were mozzies. At first I didn't bother about them because I am from Scotland afterall, we have the world famous midgies and I never reacted to them.

But oh boy, these Canadians ones are NAAAASSSTY!! My left lower shin and ankle are swollen up bad and a great big red blotchy mark around one of the bites. My wrist was bad too last night but its gone down now, my leg however got worse today and I haven't been outside.

Will anti-histimine work on this? Cos I don't have medical if I need something else :(

Should, try the local pharmacy and ask about ointment, too.

Yea, Benedryl should help alleviate some of the itchiness, and you can buy it in pill, spray, and cream form, over the counter. We have bad issues with mosquitoes in our area too, but they usually spray for them in a month or so which helps a lot.

Another thing to take into consideration is your diet. Are you using the same recipes as you used overseas? Biting bugs can smell someone who eats differently from the average local, and they LOVE that. When I go overseas, if I don't start eating like a local beforehand, I get mauled for the first couple of weeks until the diet-enforced scent shift.

Nah, I eat what everyone else eats cos they think my cooking is weird lol. I'll try the pharmacy later, thanks guys.

Nah, they like milk bottle white instead. Got sent out to hand out flyers at the stampede ground last night and got bitten again gah. Mostly I just stay inside at evening if I can help it, or stay IN the water where the lil fuckers cant bite me.

Listerine, apparently, works amazingly on those freakin' things. They're as bad here in Maine and we use the high-test stuff when we hike, but a LOT of people have been saying that they've sprayed Listerine around their yard and haven't had any problems. Worth a try, I think!

I use that stick crap, "After Bite" it usually works fairly well, just have to put it on every couple of hours to stop itching. The damn things got in the window or something and bit me while I slept! lol
