Norwegian vampire film. I kept hearing good things about this movie and finally got to see it last night via instant access on Netflix. A tortured 12 year old manages to befriend his new 12 year old neighbor who happens to be a vampire. He gives her a little bit of humanity and friendship while she gives him the courage to stand up against the bullies at school.
Interesting ending. It's not a 'scary movie'. I wouldn't even say it's a thriller really, but as far as vampire flicks go, this was pretty damn good. :thumbsup

Watch it with subtitles, the dubbing is ass.

Ugh - watched this last night...and did watch with sub-titles cause I HATE dubbed movies, and have no problems reading. However...it was just weird :(

Yeah dubbing sucks. I was fascinated by the sound of the language anyway. It is weird, huh? The ending was a little unexpected. I didn't think that bully's brother was going to try and kill Oskar, but seeing chick tear them all up was interesting.
I suppose Oskar's her new replacement for the guy who helped her before. I wonder if they were headed to his father's place in the country or just leaving, period?

Yea, I guessed he was her new caretaker too...until he gets to the point where its him or her, like the last one.

This just arrived on my doorstep courtesy of Amazon. As you know, I have no taste for horror movies whatsoever, but Chloe Grace Moretz was so awesome in Kick-Ass, and this movie got such outstanding reviews, that I just couldn't pass it up. A lot of people were calling it best movie of the year, or best movie of the decade, or BESTEST MOVIE EVARRRRRR!!!!! We will see in 115 minutes.

Real life interfered and I can't watch the last 30 minutes or so until later tonight, but so far, so good. Chloe Grace Moretz would have made a pretty boy. She will probably grow up to be a real dog. The one that actually is a boy (Kodi Smit-McPhee?) looks slightly deformed. Lazy eye or something. Together, the two of them make a nice couple, all shy innocence and quiet awkwardness. Not sure why people call this a horror movie, or say that it's "chilling". It seems like a sad romance to me. With some homocide. For flavor.

Good movie. Not a horror film, imo, not even the old-school horror non-slasher no gore type horror film. Don't go into this movie expecting fast-paced action or gory violence. There's more gory violence on Heroes or Fringe.
